This week was the busiest I've had so far, as far as uni is concerned anyway. This week I was finally going to meet my studio professor, so I stayed in all monday embroidering stuff. It was very dull. So tuesday I decided to go shopping, to get the presents for Elises birthday (She and I are birthday twins) and I found some neat stuff.

Wandering around Paris is great, there are so many different stores.
French was still hard this week. So Michelle and I cheered ourselves up by finding a chocolat shop. It had a pick and mix with all the delightful truffles and fancy chocolats, so we got a bag each and I also got macarons. It was a very worthwhile part of the day.
Both wednesday and Thursday are my usual mosaic days, but Guillame Paris, my studio professor schedualed two meetings at 2pm on both of these days. I really wanted to get the stones finished this week, but I ran out of time. I'm almost there though! Looking forward to polishing it up.
On the way to the studio room, we pass this statue. We named him George. Its a very strange statue to have in this part of the uni, his facial expression is crazy, and of course, like most of the sculptures in the school, his penis has been chipped off. Poor George.
My daily walk to uni over the sickening love bridge is sometimes quite amusing. On Wednesday I discovered the handcuffs on the fence, now thats a controlling relationship. But then on Thrursday, I couldnt see them! Strange indeed.
Just me, to show you I am still alive and kicking... and buying 80s vintage dresses.
On Friday after French Abby Michelle and I went to Pauls and had quiche and tarte citron. Yumyum. Then Michelle had to run off to catch a plane to london for the weekend for her sisters birthday. I thought about it for mums, but you know... it takes a whole weekend to get to Perth.. haha.
Abby had shopping cravings, and I was nice enough to keep her company... heh.
We found Ariel at H&M and decided to go to Marais for some vintage shopping. I love vintage shopping here. Its cheap, they are actually in my size, and there is so much choice. Catch up Perth, please!
After that we were craving mexican so I found a sorta mexican restaurant near my apartment, the most important thing being that it was happy hour, and we could get 3.50 euro frozen margaritas. Yum. Food was pretty good, big servings. Then we grabbed icecream and wine and headed to mine to watch a movie. I let the girls choose and had to sit through the Rescuers down under. I had never seen this before. I love how the main creature they need to protect is actually an american eagle, and not australian at all. It was a fun day, especially after a hard French class. She made me speak lots. Do you know how hard it is to describe what a lamington is in French? No one knows what they are. I really want one. SIT ON THE LAMINGTON.
Saturday Abby and I found a nice dodgy market and we both bought 8 euro shoes and cheap vintage dresses. It was an interesting market to see. I think I'm getting sick cause I got tired really fast, which is not like me in a shopping situation.
Okay, so TODAY. I decided to check out a market I read about on the net. After getting lost there for an hour... I finally called a friend who had access to a computer and pointed me in the right direction. I'm so glad I found it, its a great market.
Typography blocks. They are so funky looking. I wanted them, but wood = heavy in the luggage.
Spine anyone? Some of the tables were rather perculiar.
Vintage Corsets. It took a lot of control to not blow 100 euros on one of these.
Old bottles of alcohol. I wonder if any of them are actually rare? Or even drinkable?

This whole stall was just pop up books. It was so cute. I've never seen so many pop up books, this of course, is pop up Dracula book. So random.
Lots of art in this market, mainly the touristy crap, but some that do originals. I liked this guys work, but I dont think dad will really want it in the house...
I stalked this puppy all the way around the market, he was so cute. Love for the puppies.
Butterflys? I dont quite get it, but okay...
People were a lot nicer here, instead of the usual creepy men.
When everything started to close up I bought some chips and was walking back when some gorgeous old women were dancing to AC/DC highway to hell and stopped me to say Bon Appetit! and that I looked Magnific! They were lovely.
I wonder how much the puppy in the bag is? :P
Let it be known I finally found a garison cap in this market, hooray! Not as well fitting as the last, but I think if I add one clip it will be fine.
After this market I journied to Marais for what I suppose was the Paris version of our Upmarkets. It was great to see so much handmade stuff. I bought a few presents for people here. I love the Marais area, its mainly a jewish area so shops are open on a sunday because they go to their church or whatever on a monday instead. Lots of cool shops, so great to lose yourself in.
So now I suppose its back to doing some uni work. Guillame Paris my professor is a typical Parisian, he wears a beret and a striped Tshirt. He has those round professor glasses, and wears his sunnies inside. He's a funny guy but probably pretty up himself. They liked my art, and were interested in the embroideries, but really want me to make more giant food works, and work with them as props in photographs. I knew this would happen. I may make some marquettes, but no big art here... Anyway hopefully this week isnt as hectic. Hope you are all well, and best wishes to all those in Japan. <3
