Hey everyone. So its been about a week-ish. I havent been taking many photos this week since I've been trying to sort out uni stuff. I think I may almost have 4/4 classes! I have finally got into a studio, even though I havent met the professor, and he isnt back til march... and then I may have decided on bookmaking as my other technical skills. So hopefully that all works out, and I can get some work done.
I'm really enjoying the mosaics class, and I'll do another blog later about the project I'm making.
I had a french test and got 17/20 and a "Bravo!" so hopefully some of that stays in my head, and I'll be fluent soon... not likely but a girl can wish.
Appart from that, I didnt do much during the week.
I did have a coffee with a nice girl from uni who shares my passion for food, especially a chocolate. Our coffee turned into two hot chocolates and two chocolate mousses... But it was so worth it!
Yesterday I met up with her and her friends and had Indian for lunch! YUM. And then we headed to the Champs Elyees to a cinema to see Black Swan. It was not dubbed thank god. haha. The cinema itself was amazing, it was massive and very grand, like we were going to see the ballet, not black swan haha. I had a giant bag of malteasers! Just to make mum proud.
Today I had major shopping cravings since I havent been in like a week! And since everything is closed on a sunday, I did some research and found a centre just out of paris that is open on saturdays, and huge! La defense. This is where all the skyscapers are, and its the major business district.
I found a bubble man on my way to the station though. I like bubbles, they are shiney.
So this is La Defense. This is apparently the XXth Century Arc de Triomphe called Grande Arche.
Its pretty massive and square.
Here one of the entrances to the shopping centre. Very colourful.
You know how bright lights and pretty colours attract me. This one was working, but all the parents of the children were staring at me funny so I didnt get to go on... haha.
That massive building next to the Arche, is actually the shopping centre. I told you its massive. About half the stores were closed, but there was still more stores open than a shopping centre in Perth.
If you look through the Arche, you can see the Arc de Triomphe at the end of Champs Elyees. You can juuuust see it, pity it was so foggy today.
The inside of the shopping centre was very lush.
But I think these chocolatries lost track of the date.
Inside Toys R Us there was lots of Lego! I liked the Lego Eiffel Tower!
And this giant lego man, filled with yellow lego.
The arche is very deceiving in its size, its really massive. I was going to go inside, but there was a lot of stairs, and I had a lot of shopping to carry by this point... heh.
There was a lot of public art around, but I particularly liked this thumb. It was huge, the building behind was also fairly large.
THUMBS UP!
