My Birthday week.

So this was my big week, turning 91... I mean 21. Of course...
To distract myself from the fact that I didnt have my mummy I arranged a bunch of activites, most of which involved cake. The rest involved food.
For my birthday night, I had a bunch of the guys from the exchange group come over for a cake party. I told everyone they had to bring one or two of their favourite cakes from their local patisserie and then we all get to have a taste. So... there was 9 of us and about 17 cakes... We didnt make it through, but they were so very tasty.

We had cakes of all different colours!

And the not so fancy but oh so tasty tart (et vin!)

The oh so moussey elegance.

And my koalas made an appearance. They aparently make good wine holder thingos.

Birthday girl! A tad tipsy...

Before we dived in.

We have also decided its cheaper here to buy a cake with raspberries on it than it is to just buy raspberries. Win!

Matching our wines to our koalas.

Some of the koalas got a bit drunk and lost their heads. It had nothing to do with the drunk pom and my slurs about the English cricket team. heh...

This little guy is sitting above my bathroom door, and there he will stay to keep a watch on things...

They make good accessories.

Anyway, during the day I did the usual wednesday activity of going to Mosaics. And eating. Lots of chocolate.

I started cutting some fragments of glass for a new project.

And I got a cute parisian man to polish the stone for me on my mosaic. I am loving the crisp lines.

So close to being done... Just need to do something a rather to the glass (I dont remember, but I'm sure he'll tell me on wednesday)

Michelle was awesome and bought me a whole heap of chocolates from London. She went all the way there JUST to get me chocolate. This is a Walnut Whip. Its yummy. I ate it all.

Then after mosaics again on thursday it was a lovely day so I took Frank (pulled him up the hill) to the Sacre Coeur.

I forgot how lovely the view is. Especially when its warm and sunny. I didnt even need a coat!

Spring is here! And the flowers are looking tres jolie.

Sacre Coeur. Hasnt changed since the last time I saw it, but the sky is pretty blue.

Frank wanted to do a dinner cruise on the seine, so we found one and off we went.

My first course, scallops. Oh so yummy and tender.

Guinea fowl, the sauce was devine.

Crepes suzette a la flambe.
The food was lovely, and the view was nice. I am still trying to not think of the price. But since its my big 21, who cares...

The eiffel tower is still in Paris would you believe.

And so am I. (click the image to make it bigger if you dont believe me.)

And I'm still eating. I thought I would need a break from the cakes after wednesday, but by friday I was back in full swing.

And according to our professor, it was pig day in our studio. I should have brought pork.

Lauren bought be some lovely birthday flowers. They make my room smell so pretty.

And this little fella flew in to say hi. Incrediably hilarious considering this whole apartment is covered in wall decals of fake ladybirds.

It was a nice week, and yes, I'm old now, apparently. But I still miss my mummy.
