So today Michelle Abby and I decided to get some culture in before we head to our afternoon french class. Michelle wanted to see musee Rodin which none of us had done yet so we headed there for opening. The line was already quite long but we got in quickly and for free which is always good.
The building is quite impressive and the grounds are very beautiful.
Rodin's sculptures are scattered throughout the garden as well as in the main gallery.
The thinker.
The building was very impressive, a worthy setting for the works of Rodin.
Paris is so green now! Its beautiful.
A painting of Rodin's thinker by Munch.
The pieces were numerous and very impressive, he must have worked very hard his life to have so many pieces. The skill in each is amazing.
Across the road from the museum is Invalides where the crypt of Napoleon rests. The building is very impressive and the grounds are massive.
You dont realise how grand it is til you go inside. The ceiling paintings were amazing.
His tomb is huge. You could fit so many people in that coffin thing...
Everything is very grand, just how napoleon liked it.
Holy hand grenade!
The grounds has many canons.
Beaucoup de canon!
They also had an exhibition showing the armor, costumes and weaponry of the French army through the ages. It was very interesting. I wanted the jackets and hats.
Invisible horse!
In one of what we presumed were moats we saw a man playing with his dog, the dog was so playful!
We then headed on a 3km walk to uni, where I left the girls to walk home for an hour before french.
French was pretty average, like it is on most tuesdays, so we heading to Laduree for some cake cheering up.
It was perfect!
I then rested at home for an hour or so before meeting Lauren for dinner at an Irish pub... the service was terrible but the company was great.
Now its back to uni work for the next few days, but we have collectively decided to plan in advance things to do and see in paris for the weekend. We will have a busy weekend before I head to Brussels next monday.
I am finally caught up with the blogs! Thanks for being patient. As always there are more photos on my facebook if you want to see more. Feel free to leave comments.
I miss you all!
